As crafty as Demetrius Lawson is at 6’1″ his best attribute is his mid range game. He is streaky from the 3pt line, and when he is hitting, he is extremely dangerous too off the dribble. He has a knack to score in spurts, and he plays well without the basketball. At that size I wish he was more of a point guard.
His defense has improved, but with his lateral quickness and length, he should be better than what he is. It’s a work in progress and much of it is an awareness issue, mostly just deciding he can be a great defender. He’s strong enough to maintain his position against penetration. That works for him on both ends actually.
