Alex Pritchett plays with a high motor and does a great job of carving out space inside. Against Scottsburg’s zone, he was effective at sealing off toward the ball. He did pick up some foul trouble, but Coach Hudson found offensive possessions during dead balls to stem a couple of Scottsburg runs.
He finished with 19 points on the game, and as the game sped up, he was more than comfortable playing at that speed. He runs the floor hard in both directions, and he’s able to catch and finish on the move. That’s evident in the half court too, as he often a moving target through the lane. He showed a good mid range jump shot, going up confidently. He did not hit any 3ptrs, but it has been an efficient part of his game.
Defensively, he works to make plays. His high motor will stretch out of a position occasionally. He’s willing to give up his body, and he’s able to get to shots. That does lead to occasional foul trouble. He doesn’t fear contact at all. What I liked about last night was the foul trouble didn’t keep him from being a presence on the boards late.
