At a young age, the Union Mills forward already has an understanding for the game as an inside player. With the tools physically (6-7, and a long wingspan), Jake takes the ball on the post with solid foot-work, and uses his body very well.
Around the rim Jake is able to finish, and has a nice mid-range shot, as well likes taking three-point shots and can knock them down.
Kitchell also has a good eye for the cutters, and usually makes the right decision (will pass out rather than force anything). Noticeably in a workout seen, Jake and another big-man made several nice passes (throughout) to each other, and would bet “chemistry” to be one of the strong suits as a player throughout his high school/AAU career.
